About the Role
To provide the highest quality age-appropriate care within the scope of practice and established standards for electrocardiography, pacemaker analysis, and cardiac stress testing. Performs prescribed Non-Invasive Cardiology testing to identified patients. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promotes a safe environment at Children’s.
Responsibilities
- Performs electrocardiogram procedures for interpretation incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
- Performs cardiopulmonary exercise testing and stress echo testing with respiratory gas measurements and spirometry in a clinical setting incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
- Performs Holter monitor placement and analysis incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
- Performs tilt table exams and analysis incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
- Assists with pacemaker clinic as directed by physician incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
- Ensures accuracy of all patient documentation.
- Maintains professional development.
- Participates in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
- Good understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology and arrhythmias.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Certified Cardiology Technologist certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cardiology.
- Experience in pediatrics.
- Understanding of electrocardiograms.
- Training in exercise stress testing.
