Cardiology Technologist (full-time)

Work Shift: Day (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)

About the Role

To provide the highest quality age-appropriate care within the scope of practice and established standards for electrocardiography, pacemaker analysis, and cardiac stress testing. Performs prescribed Non-Invasive Cardiology testing to identified patients. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promotes a safe environment at Children’s.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrocardiogram procedures for interpretation incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
• Performs cardiopulmonary exercise testing and stress echo testing with respiratory gas measurements and spirometry in a clinical setting incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
• Performs Holter monitor placement and analysis incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
• Performs tilt table exams and analysis incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
• Assists with pacemaker clinic as directed by physician incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
• Ensures accuracy of all patient documentation.
• Maintains professional development.
• Participates in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
• Good understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology and arrhythmias.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Certified Cardiology Technologist certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cardiology.
• Experience in pediatrics.
• Understanding of electrocardiograms.
• Training in exercise stress testing.
