About the role

Advocate Health Group Practice: WFBMC Main - Cardiology is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, research participation, and teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
  • Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
  • Orders and interprets laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
  • Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  • Performs procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
  • Participates in basic science and clinical research projects.
  • Potential to precept students and/or medical learners.
  • Upholds AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master's degree preferred.
  • LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATION: Current applicable state Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to perform complex patient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Exemplary organizational skills.
  • Willingness to perform other related duties other than those described herein.

Skills

  • Proper physical requirements for the role are to stand 35%, walk 65%, and sit 100% of the time.
  • Includes activities such as standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing, lifting up to 20 lbs., carrying up to 50 lbs., and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
