About the role
Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, a part of Atrium Health, is seeking a Cardiology Acute Care NP or PA to join their team. This role is an autonomous part of their team-based care model and utilizes providers to the top of their license and scope on their inpatient general cardiology service.
Responsibilities
- Daily rounding and inpatient service triage
- Evaluating new and established patients from the ER and on the cardiovascular service
- Diagnosing, treating, and managing common conditions in the cardiovascular population
- Writing emergent progress notes
- Assessing and preparing patient workups and following core measures for documentation
- Facilitating and ordering diagnostic studies including echocardiograms, stress tests, MRIs, CTs, and cardiac catheterization if indicated
- Ordering appropriate laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures
- Explaining the necessity, preparation, and risks and benefits of scheduled diagnostics and therapeutic procedures to the patient and family
- Recognizing and responding appropriately to emergency situations
- Participating in evaluations with the primary supervising physician as directed by State laws
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
- Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina
- Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required
- BLS/ACLS Certified
- Nurse practitioners are required to have Acute Care Certification
- Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required
- Maintain ACLS and BLS certification as well as all licenses and certifications as mandated by the Hospital Credentialing Committee
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a provider required
- Experience in Cardiology
- Highly motivated with superb communication and organizational skills
- A commitment to providing quality care to the patients we serve in the Greater Charlotte community
Skills
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to work autonomously as a provider

$51.05 - $76.60 per hour, based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
Schedule
Varies, with a DAY SHIFT - 7on/7off rotation, holidays required.
