About the role
The Cardiology Program Director will lead the Fellowship program at HCA Florida JFK Hospital, ensuring compliance with ACGME and ABMS regulations. They will oversee the development and quality of the program, including clinical and didactic education, faculty evaluation and development, and resident mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Develop and administer a high-quality curriculum for residents and faculty
- Mentor and guide residents and other learners
- Evaluate and develop program faculty, including rotation- and site directors, core- and teaching faculty, and Associate Program Directors
- Evaluate the program and implement efforts aimed at program improvement
- Ensure program compliance with established policies and procedures by the ACGME, ABMS, Sponsoring Institution, and Hospital[s]
- Create and maintain program policies and procedures in alignment with ACGME and Sponsoring Institution
- Manage resident related HR issues, including disciplinary action, due process, and grievance
- Compile reports and maintain accurate and timely communication
- Evaluate and mentor residents, in compliance with established requirements and best practice
- Engage with hospital leadership and the community
- Oversee resident recruitment efforts
- Communicate with regulatory agencies and division leadership
Requirements
- Be a certified physician by the American Board of Medical Specialties
- Maintain and/or be eligible to obtain a Florida medical license
- Demonstrate commitment to education, mentorship, and scholarly activity
- Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Be credentialed at the facilities of his/her clinical engagement
- Have at least three [3] years of clinical experience in an academic/teaching environment, and have demonstrated involvement in medical education leadership, as well as active involvement in research and scholarship over the past 5 years
Qualifications
- Experience as Program Director, APD, and/or Core Faculty with leadership involvement is strongly preferred
