Cardio Catheterization Technician - Cath Lab - Per Diem

About the Role

The Cardio Catheterization Technician performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist physicians in performing complex invasive cardiac catheterization procedures and surgeries. Uses imaging equipment to help doctors detect and treat heart and blood vessel issues.

Responsibilities

• Takes patients’ medical history and answers patients’ questions before any procedure is done.
• Ensures that the equipment is in good working order and ready for use.
• Executes noninvasive procedures, such as ultrasound images.
• Evaluates images to ensure good quality and confirms the area in question is included.
• Identifies differences between normal and abnormal images.
• Communicates with the physician regarding the results of the images.
• Assists the physician with inserting catheters and other invasive procedures.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
