Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist

About the Role

The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including echocardiograms, fetal, transesophageal, epicardial, and intracardiac studies, on patients of all ages. They prepare patients, operate equipment, analyze results, and provide preliminary reports to cardiologists, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate data collection.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform cardiac imaging procedures.
• Assist with specialized ultrasound procedures.
• Recognize congenital heart defects.
• Ensure proper supply management.
• Evaluate new equipment and maintain quality control.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Engage in continuing education and research.
• Assist with training new staff.
• Contribute to departmental projects and performance improvement efforts.
• Prepare and deliver educational presentations.

Requirements

• ARDMS or CCI certification as a medical or cardiac sonographer.
• Pediatric or congenital cardiac registry required.
• BLS certification.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
