Scope to Work

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students. This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Required associate’s degree or equivalent
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent. Minimal as gained at student level.
• Required: CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association
• Upon Hire: required OR CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross
• Required: CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• EXCLUDE Cardiac
• 1 Year required: CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular
• 1 Year required: CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular
• 1 Year required: CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
