Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955, as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Scope to Work

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; transesophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients.
• Instruct medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound.
• May act as a mentor/preceptor for other ultrasonographers and/or students.

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Required CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association upon hire or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross upon hire.
• Required CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (EXCLUDES Cardiac) within 1 year.
• Required CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular) within 1 year.
• Required CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (EXCLUDES Cardiac, EXCLUDES Vascular) within 1 year or CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (EXCLUDES Cardiac, EXCLUDES Vascular) within 1 year.
• Required CRT-Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Cardiac) within 1 year or CRT-Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) - Cardiac within 1 year.
• Required CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography within 1 year for Vascular Department.
