BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) for Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. New graduates, upcoming graduates, and experienced sonographers are welcome to apply.
About the Role
Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services, critical and emergency care, pediatric emergency services, and a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services, including heart and vascular care. The Cardiovascular Unit provides diagnostic and therapeutic services based on physician orders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Memorial Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital, a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, and a Magnet®-recognized organization for nursing excellence.
Schedule
- Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Call rotation: Every 7th weekend (paid even if not called in)
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of cardiac testing, including treadmill stress testing, holter monitoring, transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echo, stress echo, and cardiac doppler.
- Performs tests and procedures at various locations.
- Maintains accurate patient logs and updates daily charges in the computer.
- Utilizes cardiac lab menus in the computer and maintains patient files.
Requirements
- RDCS Registry (required)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency in Allied Health/Sonography (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Less than 2 years of experience in sonography
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
