Cardiac Sonographer Non Registered - Cardiology Non Invasive - PRN

Responsibilities

• Mechanically performs 2D, M-mode and Doppler cardiac exams.
• Schedules, transports, answers phones, and enters billing information for exams.
• Dictates exams, prepares and measures M-modes, and exchanges pertinent information.
• Delivers, picks up, and distributes dictations.
• Responds to patients' needs and reports changes in patient condition.
• Orders Echo supplies and keeps rooms clean and supplied.
• Logs patients and exams and files records.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Covers for echo emergencies as needed.
• Maintains equipment quality and coordinates repairs.
• Stays updated on echocardiography advancements and seeks mentorship.
• Assists with other cardiac procedures as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year allied health education program in a patient care-related field.
• Preferred: Registered Medical Sonographer (RMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registered, or registered within 18 months of hire.
• State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively and organize tasks.
• Collaborative teamwork skills.
• Manual dexterity for echocardiogram performance.
• Two years of active echocardiogram experience preferred.
