Cardiac Sonographer | Full-Time Day/Evening | Newark Campus - $10K Sign On

The organization seeks a Full‑Time Cardiac Sonographer who will apply its core values of Love & Excellence to deliver the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures at the request of physicians to assist in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.
• Assist with the clinical training of students and Cardiology Fellows associated with the Non‑Invasive Cardiovascular Lab.
• Document patient’s clinical history and technologist impressions of the images obtained on exam request forms.
• Assist the cardiologist with obtaining images and equipment operation during transesophageal echocardiography.
• Assist in the instruction of cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practice performance at Christiana Care.
• Rotate on on‑call schedule covering off hours and weekend rotation.
• Perform pediatric echocardiography, if experienced.
• Demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of a medical diagnostic ultrasound program or other allied health profession or possess equivalent training.

Qualifications

• New graduates: Registry‑eligible and must sit for registry and become RDCS/RCS within the first year of employment or within the first year of eligibility.
• Pass the registry exam from either the ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS).
• CPR certification.

Pay

This position pays $41.15 to $54.98 per hour based on relevant experience.

Schedule

• Flexible scheduling: five 8‑hour shifts or four 10‑hour shifts
• Holiday and call rotation required
• Weekend rotation coverage required
• Primary work location: Christiana Hospital; occasional coverage at Wilmington Hospital may be requested
