Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms for patients from newborns to adults, evaluating congenital heart disease with adherence to scanning protocols.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including shifts, locations, call requirements, and weekends.
- Manage patient flow, prioritizing STAT, urgent, and high-priority cases.
- Provide age-appropriate care, preparing patients for procedures and ensuring comfort and understanding.
- Create accurate preliminary reports, perform necessary measurements, and alert physicians of critical findings.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and staff, providing detailed, age-appropriate procedure explanations.
- Aid cardiologists with procedures, adhering to scope of practice, aseptic techniques, and procedural guidelines.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring prompt reporting of malfunctions for repair.
- Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and PACS proficiently for modality-specific functions.
- Follow department protocols and raise concerns about non-compliance or safety issues.
- Adhere to QA/QC and safety standards, including The Joint Commission, IAC, and state requirements.
- Track ongoing training and certifications, attending mandatory meetings and completing assigned education.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Assoc of Arts or Sciences Area of Study Sonography
- Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support, Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
- Pediatric Registry required within 18 months of hire.
- BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire.
Additional Requirements
- License required after hire: Obtain the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential within one year from the date of program graduation.

Pay
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Hourly Range: $36.52 to $54.78. Eligible Incentives: $20,000 Sign-On Bonus + relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.
