Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiac Monitor Tech- Med Surg/Tele 4N- Full Time, Days.

Job Responsibilities

• Operates telemetry monitoring equipment to identify and record variations in the patients cardiac rhythm.
• Provides data for physicians and telemetry nursing staff to diagnose and treat cardiac arrhythmia.
• Limits, edits, and mounts ECG rhythm strips for review by physician and nursing staff.
• Notifies nursing staff of any critical heart activity or irregularity in a timely fashion.
• Maintains telemetry monitoring equipment and refers equipment for repair.
• Participates in the orientation process of new employees.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write in order to obtain and record pertinent information in patient charts and to perform noncomplex arithmetic calculations as normally acquired through completion of high school.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and physical sciences.
• Basic analytical skills in order to recognize abnormal heart rhythms or artifact in test data and to notify appropriate personnel.
• A passing grade of 85% on the Dysrhythmia Proficiency Exam.

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,597.00 - $51,597.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
