Responsibilities
- Performs routine & advanced cardiac ultrasound techniques and examinations.
- Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms, operative transesophageal echocardiograms, mitral valve clips and transcatheter aortic valve replacements.
- Supervises, assists, and evaluates students in the clinical education setting.
- Obtains intravenous access and administers intravenous contrast agents such as Definity and Optison.
- Performs Saline Bubble Studies.
- Prepares preliminary echocardiogram reports and measurements for physicians.
- Performs portable tests in patient rooms when necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Associates Degree Required
- Work Experience: 3 years Relevant experience.
- Licenses: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Upon Hire Required or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Adult Echocardiography Upon Hire Required or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Fetal Echocardiography Upon Hire Required or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Pediatric Echocardiography Upon Hire Required or Registered Cardiac Sonographer Upon Hire Required and Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required.
- Courses and Training: Accredited program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography. Upon Hire Required.
