About the role

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist, as part of the procedure team, provides technical services and support to diagnostic and interventional cardiology, structural heart, peripheral vascular, and interventional radiology procedures for the Cardiac Cath Lab adult patients. Responsibilities include case monitoring and documentation, case set-up, scrubbing procedures and assisting the physician, circulating cases, troubleshooting clinical equipment during procedures, and maintaining sterile technique. The technologist must perform in a fast-paced environment with a teamwork approach. The position may require on-call rotations and may involve covering call for Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assisting physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements
• Preparing and supporting patients and families with care, education, and reassurance before, during, and after procedures
• Operating and maintaining advanced equipment to deliver safe and effective treatment
• Monitoring patient responses with vigilance and compassion to ensure the highest level of care
• Safeguarding a sterile, safe environment while serving as an advocate for every patient

Requirements

• Vocational or 2-year Associate Degree required
• CV Tech, Registered Vascular Lab Tech, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiologist Specialist (RCES), State Registered Radiologic Tech, Registered Vascular Tech (RVT), VI-Vascular Interventional Cert, or Registered CV Invasive Specialist required
• BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• Interventional cardiology, radiology, or peripheral vascular knowledge and degree in associated program required
