Cardiac Cath Lab & Electrophysiology APP

Responsibilities

The Cardiac Cath Lab/Electrophysiology APP provides comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath and electrophysiology procedures. A variety of skills are used to educate, consult, and manage the cardiac cath and/or electrophysiology patient population and assist the patient/family, the patient care team, and physicians. This role promotes high-quality, evidence-based care while supporting operational efficiency, patient throughput, and clinical outcomes within the Cardiac Cath Lab and associated inpatient/outpatient setting while working collaboratively with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner Program required.
• Minimum Experience: Three years of professional nursing or Physician Assistant experience in a clinical setting. Previous cardiac experience preferred.
• Required Certification/Registration: DEA Registration, Current and ongoing license as a Professional Nurse AND Nurse Practitioner by the State of New York, Must have current and ongoing National Board Certification (FNP-BC, AANP, NCCPA), Current BLS required at hire or transfer until ACLS obtained. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained, ACLS preferred upon hire or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
• Physical Requirements: Standing and walking most of the shift; moving patients and equipment. Mobility required. Visual acuity required for typing, reading, filing, and using the computer. Working Conditions Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
