About the role

Full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, partnering with AMN Healthcare. You will provide high‑acuity cardiac anesthesia, participate in New Jersey’s first liver transplant program, and teach senior residents one‑on‑one in cardiac and liver transplant cases. The role features a focused case mix of approximately 25 cardiac and 45 liver transplant cases per year, with faculty never covering both services simultaneously. You will join an expanding four‑faculty cardiac/liver anesthesia service aligned with University Hospital’s transplant and surgical programs. H‑1B visa candidates are considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑acuity cardiac anesthesia for cardiac surgery cases.
• Provide anesthesia for the state’s first liver transplant program.
• Teach senior residents one‑on‑one in cardiac and liver transplant cases.
• Contribute to didactics, faculty development, and scholarly activity.
• Optionally work Stone Center shifts with hourly premiums.
• Administer anesthesia personally without residents or CRNAs.
