Car Wash Attendant

About the role

As a Car Wash Attendant, you will be responsible for greeting customers, answering questions, explaining wash options, and guiding vehicles into the wash tunnel. You'll also handle site upkeep, cleaning tasks, and assist with opening/closing procedures and light troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions, and explain wash options available
• Stand at the pay stations and assist every customer that comes through the wash
• Field customer inquiries
• Guide customer vehicles into the wash tunnel
• Upkeep the condition of the car wash by performing cleaning tasks such as taking out the garbage, sweeping the lot, and using a pressure washer to clean the wash bay
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Report to work on time and follow the dress and appearance code

Duties breakdown

• 70% – Customer Interaction
• 20% – Site Upkeep (Cleaning/Maintaining)
• 5% – Opening/Closing Procedures
• 5% – Basic/Light Troubleshooting of Daily Duties

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills including active listening
• Excellent sales and customer service skills
• Ability to anticipate customer needs
• Ability to recommend different wash memberships to customers
• Ability to work as a team
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn a point of sales system
• Strong work ethic and professional attitude
• Customer service and some sales experience preferred

Physical demands

• Frequently required to stand and walk throughout the workday
• Use of hands; reach with hands and arms
• Climb or balance; stoop, crouch and kneel
• Must be able to work in damp and humid conditions
• Must be able to work in outdoor variable weather conditions
• May have to lift and/or move objects up to 25lbs on a regular basis and occasionally up to 50lbs
• Exposure to noise

Working environment

This position works in a typical outdoor car wash environment. The noise level is usually moderate but can be excessively loud with hearing protection required (along with other PPE). This person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols and will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as, but not limited to hearing, eye, foot, and hand protection.

Supervision

The team member must be capable of performing their responsibilities with minimal supervision.
