Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Manager, Capture Leader (M3) to lead complex, multi-domain capture efforts across Gold Dome of America (GDA) underlayer pursuits, domestic Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) captures (including modernization), and future growth and AIAMD development in support of the U.S. Army’s battle command solutions portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Capture Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead cross-functional capture teams across GDA underlayer pursuits, domestic IBCS captures (including modernization), and AIAMD development opportunities.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive capture strategies, including customer shaping, solution positioning, and competitive differentiation aligned to U.S. Army battle command requirements.
    • Conduct robust competitive assessments, Black/Red/Blue Team reviews, and refine win strategies and themes to maximize probability of win.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and sustain strong relationships with U.S. Army customers, including acquisition, requirements, and operational communities, to shape opportunities and acquisition approaches.
    • Engage routinely with Northrop Grumman and industry executives to align strategy, teaming, and investment decisions with growth objectives.
    • Represent Northrop Grumman at key industry, Army, and stakeholder events to advance customer intimacy and market insight.
  • Business Development & Growth
    • Identify, qualify, and prioritize new business opportunities within the GDA, IBCS, and AIAMD portfolios, with a focus on modernization and long-term growth.
    • Develop opportunity roadmaps, capture plans, and growth strategies that expand Northrop Grumman’s position in U.S. Army battle command solutions.
    • Shape acquisition strategies and RFP structures in collaboration with customers and partners.
  • Proposal & Solution Development
    • Oversee development of compliant, compelling, and timely proposals that clearly communicate technical, cost, and execution value.
    • Partner with program management, engineering, and functional teams to define executable, affordable solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
    • Ensure alignment of technical approach, pricing, and staffing plans with capture strategy and risk posture.
  • Risk, Budget & Performance Management
    • Plan and conduct risk and opportunity management activities across major capture efforts, addressing cost, schedule, technical, and execution risk.
    • Manage capture budgets, including investments, pursuit costs, and internal/external resources to deliver on financial and growth targets.
    • Track and communicate capture progress, key milestones, and outcomes to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense programs, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex capture efforts for U.S. Army or comparable DoD customers, including one or more of the following: IAMD, IBCS, battle command, integrated fires, or related mission domains.
  • Proven track record in capture management, business development, and/or program management for major system development or modernization efforts.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. DoD and U.S. Army acquisition processes, including competitive procurements.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance, contracts, supply chain) to execute capture activities and proposals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and influence skills, with experience engaging at multiple executive levels internally and with industry partners and customers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing and delivering executive-level briefings.
  • Active Secret clearance (or higher), with ability to obtain and maintain required program clearances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline, Business, or related field.
  • 20+ years of experience related to DoD and/or U.S. Army programs, including integrated air and missile defense, C2/battle command, or related missions.
  • 10+ years of experience in domestic and/or international business development and capture management.
  • Direct experience with IBCS, IAMD/AIAMD, or related U.S. Army battle command and integrated fires programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Government competitive acquisition and source selection processes, including large, complex development and modernization contracts.
  • Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) related to air and missile defense or battle command solutions.
  • Demonstrated success shaping and winning complex, multi-partner pursuits involving extensive executive and customer engagement.

Pay

Primary level salary range: $184,300.00 - $276,500.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
