About the role
You will play a critical role in delivering site capital projects that support safe, efficient, and reliable food ingredients manufacturing operations in New Century, KS (onsite role). Working closely with site leadership and cross-functional partners, you will help translate business needs into executed capital solutions.
- Lead the end-to-end execution of site minor capital programs, with a total portfolio value up to $5M and individual projects typically up to $1M
- Execute projects from inception through operational handover, ensuring compliance with site and corporate engineering and safety processes
- Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, technology, safety, quality, and procurement to deliver robust project outcomes
- Drive design development, constructability, and safety-in-design throughout all project phases
- Maintain disciplined control of cost, schedule, and performance, including forecasting and monthly capital reporting
- Manage internal resources and external engineering and construction partners to ensure scope, quality, and schedule adherence
- Support readiness-to-operate, commissioning, and close-out activities, including documentation and financial closure
- Contribute to site capital planning, supporting project prioritization aligned to operational and business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process/Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Food Technology, Bio-Tech) or equivalent technical experience
- 2+ years of experience executing capital projects in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, industry codes, and manufacturing systems
- Experience with project management fundamentals including scheduling, cost control, and risk management
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, utilities, equipment, DCS systems, and Management of Change (MOC)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently in a site environment
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and external teams
- Comfort working in a hands-on, onsite manufacturing setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience executing projects through a formal minor capital project process
- Knowledge of SAP, capital cost controls, or portfolio management tools
- OSHA 30 (Construction Safety) or equivalent certification
