About This Opportunity

This isn’t just another procurement role—it’s your chance to build from the ground up. As our Capital Procurement Category Manager, you’ll take the lead on all construction procurement for a brand-new plant in Defiance, Ohio, while anchoring operations from our Anderson, SC hub. If you thrive on the energy of greenfield projects and have the CAPEX chops to negotiate complex contracts, this is where your expertise turns blueprints into reality.

What You’ll Do

  • You will own the end-to-end procurement strategy for construction-related categories—from site prep to final fit-out. That means you’ll partner with engineering, project management, and suppliers to secure everything from structural steel to specialized equipment.

  • You’ll manage bid processes, negotiate terms, and ensure delivery timelines align with a fast-paced construction schedule.

    • Lead sourcing and contract negotiations for capital equipment, construction services, and MRO materials
    • Develop category strategies that balance cost, quality, and schedule—especially for the Defiance plant build
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define specifications and supplier selection criteria
    • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and risk factors to proactively adjust plans
    • Drive cost savings and value engineering without compromising project milestones

What You Bring

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field—and you’ve got at least 5 years of CAPEX procurement experience under your belt.

  • You know the difference between a lump-sum contract and a time-and-materials deal, and you’ve navigated the complexities of large-scale construction projects.

    • Deep experience in capital procurement for industrial or manufacturing environments
    • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and scopes of work
    • Comfortable working in a hybrid role—some days at the Anderson office, others on-site in Defiance
    • Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Why Join?

  • This isn’t a desk job where you push paper. You’ll be a key player in a high-visibility project that will shape production for years to come.

  • We offer competitive compensation (commensurate with experience) plus benefits that support your growth and well-being.

  • And because we know great work happens when you’re empowered, you’ll have the autonomy to make decisions and the support to execute them.
