About the role

Designs, develops, tests and evaluates electrical, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment and systems. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements. Performs advanced engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment and systems for commercial, government, military and/or scientific uses. Analyzes customer requirements and develops technical solutions to complex problems. Maintains equipment and/or systems integrity while ensuring compliance with policies. Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Grasps and applies new information quickly
  • Proficient in C/C++, comfortable reading/writing of assembler, understanding of Linux and VxWorks real time operating systems
  • Involved in Protocol Analysis, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Research, Rapid Prototyping of proof of concept capabilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Mathematics
  • Four (4) years of equivalent related military experience may be substituted for the Bachelor degree
  • Master of Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Fully proficient knowledge of operating system fundamentals (interrupts, threading, virtual memory, device drivers)
  • Fully proficient knowledge in low-level programming of device drivers in a Unix, Linux, or Windows environment
  • Experience in Reverse Engineering tools, both COTS and GOTS is a plus

  • 12+ Years of experience (or 8+ with Relevant Masters Degree) in three (3) or more of the following: System Requirements Analysis Software System Design Software System Development Software System Integration Software System Testing
  • 8+ Years of Experience in four (4) or more of the following: Developing embedded software systems in assembly C, C++, or Java Developing embedded software systems for Unix, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, JunOS, or vendor-proprietary operating systems
  • Experience with operating system internals for Unix, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, JunOS, or vendor-proprietary operating systems
  • Reverse engineering and analysis of software
  • Low-level programming of device drivers in a Unix, Linux, or Windows environment
  • Bit-level data analysis
  • Systems engineering of large scale embedded systems

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $212,500 - $287,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Travel Required: Less than 10%
