Our Safe Space is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in Tucson in 2024. We provide free workshops, book clubs, creative programs, wellness activities, discussion groups, social events, and community service opportunities. Our community includes more than 900 members, primarily women and LGBTQ+ community members, along with anyone seeking positive opportunities for personal growth, connection, and self-discovery.

Volunteer Role: Canva Quote Graphics Creator

Do you love Canva, strong quotes, and the oddly satisfying feeling of turning a spreadsheet into something beautiful? Excellent. We need you. Our Safe Space US is looking for a creative, detail-oriented volunteer to turn our growing collection of inspirational quotes into branded social media graphics. We already have the quotes. We already have the branding. What we need is someone who can bring the two together consistently, thoughtfully, and without making every graphic look exactly the same.

What You'll Do

• Create social media quote graphics in Canva using our existing brand style
• Work from organized spreadsheets containing quotes and author names
• Use approved templates while adding enough variety to keep the graphics engaging
• Format longer and shorter quotes so they remain clear and readable
• Check spelling, punctuation, author attribution, and visual consistency
• Organize completed designs in Canva and follow a clear naming system
• Create graphics in the sizes we use most often, including Instagram and Facebook
• Let us know when a quote is too long, unclear, or may need additional review

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

• Are comfortable and confident using Canva
• Have a good eye for layout, spacing, fonts, and readability
• Enjoy working independently with clear source material
• Are detail-oriented and notice small errors
• Can follow branding guidelines without making every design feel repetitive
• Communicate reliably and ask questions when something is unclear
• Understand that simple and readable usually beats crowded and overdesigned

Experience with social media design is helpful, but a formal design background is not required. We care more about judgment, consistency, and follow-through.

Time Commitment

Approximately two to four hours per week initially, depending on how many graphics you would like to create. This is a remote and flexible volunteer role. Work can be completed on your own schedule.
