About the role

The Territory Account Manager position will represent all company and related subsidiaries and affiliate company brands, executing sales and promotions that align with our brands' goals. This multi-dimensional role covers sales, marketing, brand awareness, strategy, and acts as a liaison between customers and our brands. The Territory Account Manager will drive growth, sales, and awareness of our brands by finding, connecting with, and qualifying leads. They will have an in-depth understanding of our brands' portfolio in their region, present product differentiators, overcome objections, close sales, and nurture a geographic database. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, revenue-driven, and embraces the philosophy of servant selling—doing things for customers and prospects they perceive as valuable. They will provide the leadership team with market analysis, competitive forces, customer needs, and sales resources required to meet revenue targets. Duties focus on selling as the #1 priority and building relationships with accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Grow sales, build key account relationships, and drive revenue for the territory in Massachusetts.
  • Conduct and analyze market research to determine opportunities, trends, and risks in the territory/market.
  • Define and assess market opportunities and develop a go-to-market strategy.
  • Evaluate our brands' commercial sales approach continually.
  • Act as a strong brand representative and drive new business through relationships, communication, and strategies benefiting both Canopy USA and our accounts.
  • Develop business partnerships leveraging industry relationships.
  • Meet KPIs for store visits, buyer meetings, and field activations including pop-ups, account events, and budtender education.
  • Represent our brands at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets and goals; eligibility for incentive bonus compensation targeted at 30% of annual base salary.
  • Partner with Field and Trade Marketing teams to execute and support accounts with marketing initiatives and events.
  • Lead, deploy, and manage in-store visual execution and brand standards.
  • Develop, collect, and share monthly marketing and sales recaps with key stakeholders.
  • Manage territory budget with Regional Sales Director for promotions, swag, travel, and account engagement; accurately estimate costs and manage execution.
  • 80% of time spent in the field.

Requirements

  • Experience in Sales/Business Development and/or marketing, preferably within the cannabis industry.
  • Experience working directly with customers.
  • Track record of successful delivery against revenue and other quantitative goals.
  • Proven ability to perform in high-visibility, high-growth environments.
  • Prior experience with pop-ups and promotions is a plus.
  • Sales experience required; cannabis industry sales experience is a plus.
  • Ability to organize, implement, and maintain sales strategies and programs.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented team player with thorough business fundamentals.
  • Must be hands-on and willing to drive new business and work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Proficient technical skills including use of MS Office, CRM software, and Canva.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work some weekends and evenings.
  • Must live within the designated territory with the ability to travel.
  • Valid state-issued license to work in the cannabis industry (e.g., MED Badge).

Pay

Annual compensation from $75,000-$90,000, plus eligibility for quarterly incentive bonus compensation targeted at 30% of annual base salary.

Schedule

This position regularly works normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Some late nights and weekends will be required.

This position is exempt from overtime pay due to the outside sales employee exemption.

  • Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

  • Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment.
