Position Overview
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a leading national law firm, seeks a Cannabis attorney with 4-6 years of experience to support our Phoenix office. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney seeking career growth.
Position Requirements
- Must be admitted to the Arizona bar in good standing.
- The ideal candidate will have regulatory & administrative code experience in the cannabis industry, to include:
- Advising cannabis industry clients on regulatory and administrative code requirements applicable to adult-use recreational and medical cannabis businesses.
- Preparing, managing, and submitting cannabis license applications, renewals, amendments, and related regulatory filings before state and local agencies.
- Representing corporate and business interests in connection with cannabis operations, entity structuring, governance, transactions, and ongoing compliance obligations.
- Counseling clients on real estate regulations and requirements affecting cannabis facilities, including zoning, land use, leasing, site selection, permitting, and operational restrictions.
- Monitoring changes in cannabis laws, regulations, agency guidance, and administrative procedures, and advising clients on business impacts and compliance strategies.
- Coordinating with business owners, investors, landlords, regulators, and other stakeholders to support compliant cannabis business operations.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, correspondence, policies, and agreements related to cannabis licensing, operations, real estate, and regulatory compliance.
