Campus & WAN Firewall Engineer (Multi-VRF Focus) with Security Clearance

About the role

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced firewall systems to protect critical infrastructure. Conduct security assessments and implement necessary controls to ensure compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure firewalls to meet organizational security policies and standards
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructures
• Develop and maintain documentation related to firewall configurations and security policies
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of firewall solutions
• Stay updated on emerging threats and technologies to inform security strategy

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in firewall engineering or cybersecurity
• Experience with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, or similar products
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network architecture
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
• Experience with cloud-based security solutions
• Knowledge of common security frameworks like NIST or CIS

Skills

Pay

• $124,609 - $350,889 annually
