The Temporary Campus Store Team Member delivers an exceptional retail experience while supporting daily store operations during periods of increased activity, working alongside store leaders and teammates to create a welcoming, customer‑focused environment by providing outstanding service, maintaining an organized and well‑stocked sales floor, and ensuring customers can easily find the products and services they need. Every interaction helps create a positive shopping experience that reflects the Barnes & Noble College brand.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by greeting customers, answering questions, and providing friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Assist customers in locating course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, convenience items, and other merchandise that best meets their needs.
• Operate the point-of-sale system to accurately process transactions, including cash, credit, and financial aid purchases.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor through merchandising, replenishment, recovery, and housekeeping.
• Support daily store operations by assisting with inventory, receiving merchandise, order fulfillment, and other operational tasks to keep the store customer-ready.
• Develop product knowledge by staying informed about merchandise, promotions, store services, and course materials to confidently assist customers.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to accomplish daily priorities while adapting to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
