Campus Security
About the role
The position involves ensuring campus security and coordinating with the police department for patrolling school grounds and surrounding areas. It also includes assisting in developing programs and policies regarding student supervision.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the school grounds to ensure security and safety of students and staff.
- Prevent unauthorized persons from entering the campus and unauthorized students from leaving.
- Direct support personnel in hallways, snack bars, restrooms, and other areas to maintain order.
- Coordinate with the police department and administration for patrols and supervision of parking lots and surrounding areas.
- Maintain surveillance of the immediate vicinity to prevent inappropriate student behavior and illegal parking.
- Supervise and direct attendance and tardiness programs, special incentives, and other school events.
- Escort students from classes to the office upon request.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
- Prior leadership with high school students.
- Knowledge of school rules and regulations, legal responsibilities, and social and personal needs of high school age students.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, including students, parents, teachers, and the public.
- Ability to enforce rules firmly and fairly while maintaining appropriate behavior among students.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Desirable: Ability to communicate in Spanish, Associate of Arts degree, and/or courses in Police Science.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of traffic laws, state and local laws and regulations, and principles of communication with high school age students.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Effective working relationships with supervisory and management personnel and subordinates.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate locks and perform clerical tasks.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to enforce rules firmly and fairly.
- Knowledge of school rules and regulations.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members.
- Manual dexterity for lock manipulation and clerical tasks.

Pay
Salary range 18, with a salary placement from $20.67 - $26.40 hourly, prorated based on start date and prior experience.
Schedule
This position is scheduled to begin on August 13, 2026, under an 192-day work year calendar, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
