About the role
The Campus Safety Officer (CSO) at Phillips Academy is responsible for safeguarding the campus, its assets, and the personal property of community members and visitors. Duties include patrolling the entire 550-acre campus, checking doors for unauthorized entry, and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Patrols the campus using various modes of transportation (vehicle, bicycle, foot)
- Checks exterior and selected interior doors of administrative buildings and student dorms for locked/unlocked condition or unauthorized entry
- Documents activity and findings in the event shift log or with the dispatcher
- Attends to all assigned duties by supervisors, operations managers, or director of campus safety
- Acts as a resource, deterrent to crime, and ambassador for Phillips Academy
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years solid security experience preferred
- Must successfully complete CPR/AED training
- Must successfully complete Campus Safety Field Training
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license
- Experience in an institutional or campus setting preferred
- Customer service experience desirable
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred
Qualifications

Pay
$20.50 hourly rate plus shift differential
Schedule
Full-time, 12 months per year, 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Sunday, 7am-3pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 3pm-11pm, and Saturday, 7am-3pm. Includes holidays, nights, and weekends.
