About the role

The Campus Recreation Assistant is responsible for monitoring facility access and ensuring the safe usage of the REC Center. This is a mid-level entry position that requires experience with cash handling. Knowledge of customer service, recreation, and wellness. First Aid and Adult CPR certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain this certification.

Responsibilities

  • Renting REC Center outdoor equipment
  • Monitoring the entrance and exit
  • Checking in guests and members
  • Maintaining a clean, friendly environment
  • Event set-up and display creation

Requirements

  • Current certification or willingness to obtain certification in Basic First Aid and Adult CPR (preferred)
  • Point of sales experience required
  • One to three years of customer service and/or recreation experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment
  • Must have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee
  • Must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility

Pay

$15.57/hr

Schedule

Part time, 10:45am to 3:30pm and 3:30pm to 8:00pm, Monday through Sunday.
