About the role
The Campus Recreation Assistant is responsible for monitoring facility access and ensuring the safe usage of the REC Center. This is a mid-level entry position that requires experience with cash handling. Knowledge of customer service, recreation, and wellness. First Aid and Adult CPR certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain this certification.
Responsibilities
- Renting REC Center outdoor equipment
- Monitoring the entrance and exit
- Checking in guests and members
- Maintaining a clean, friendly environment
- Event set-up and display creation
Requirements
- Current certification or willingness to obtain certification in Basic First Aid and Adult CPR (preferred)
- Point of sales experience required
- One to three years of customer service and/or recreation experience preferred
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment
- Must have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee
- Must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility

Schedule
Part time, 10:45am to 3:30pm and 3:30pm to 8:00pm, Monday through Sunday.
