Campus - Mortgage Hedging & Trading Summer Intern

Primary Responsibilities

• Learn how the Hedging & Trading team hedge NVR Mortgage’s loan pipeline.
• Observe how market movements, pricing tools, and investor programs influence daily decisions.
• Gain exposure to TBA trading by observing trade executions with Wall Street broker-dealers.
• Manage roughly $50 billion in annual notional value and maintain strong trading-desk relationships.
• Execute trades to hedge interest-rate risk and manage MBS market volatility.
• Develop an understanding of secondary-marketing reporting by assisting with daily position summaries.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in data during the preparation of position summaries.
• Spend time shadowing professionals across Capital Markets, Loan Sales, and Accounting.
• Understand how loans are priced, committed, sold, and reconciled throughout the mortgage process.
• Gain insight into the broader Mortgage-Backed-Security (MBS) market and homebuilding lifecycle.
• See how hedging and trading activities support the sale of homes.
• Interact with operations teams that help deliver a customer's final mortgage product.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in college degree program (graduation within 12 months preferred).
• Highly driven and self-motivated with leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Current Driver’s License.
