About the Role
Provide support for teachers in implementing evidence-based practices in the classroom through professional learning, modeling, and instructional coaching to support the academic achievement of all learners, including at-risk students. Enhance teachers’ abilities to deliver instruction that maximizes student achievement, ensures academic rigor, aligns with curriculum standards, and fosters student engagement and ownership of learning.
Responsibilities
- Provide collaborative and one-on-one instructional coaching and facilitate teacher learning and professional development to improve student academic success.
- Work with administrators to align instructional support with the Board of Trustees Student Outcome Goals and district and campus priorities.
- Lead data sessions analyzing formative and summative assessment results; suggest and monitor evidence-based intervention strategies and materials for students.
- Ensure state and district content standards are the foundation of instruction in all content areas.
- Assist teachers in developing and internalizing lesson plans.
- Coordinate and conduct staff development at the campus and district levels.
- Model evidence-based instructional practices through classroom demonstrations.
- Conduct informal classroom observations and provide immediate feedback for instructional support, program improvement, and increased student achievement (not for evaluation).
- Use technology to disaggregate test data to inform and guide curricular and instructional program improvement at the school, class, and individual student levels.
- Assist teachers in effectively incorporating technology into the instructional program.
- Help teachers develop sound, defensible procedures for assessing student progress and reporting it to students and parents in a timely manner.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, media specialists, guidance counselors, and other school staff to strengthen all aspects of the instructional program.
- Work with district-level curriculum and program coordinators to ensure rigorous, relevant curricula and instructional practices that increase student achievement.
- Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents, adhering to district policies for records maintenance and retention.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned; certification in multiple areas preferred.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience.
