Position Summary
The Campus Chapter Intern (CCI) is a student intern who represents NMDP on their college campus. Interns must be currently enrolled undergraduate students at Arizona State University's Tempe Campus.
Participate in program communications
- Complete required check-ins
- Attend a weekly call with the Supervisor, Account Manager, and Member Recruitment Coordinator
Lead chapter operations
- Advising chapter leadership toward goals
- Serving as acting chapter president as needed
Recruit, retain, and engage a balanced, representative chapter membership
- Mobilize members to support education, recruitment, and fundraising
- Deliver a weekly captive audience presentation to educate and recruit prospective registry members
- Establish and staff consistent tabling opportunities to maintain on-campus visibility (minimum four hours per month in highly frequented locations)
Build and maintain relationships
- Build and maintain relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and partners
- Complete timely follow-up to enable campus awareness and education efforts
Collaborate with student organizations and event organizers
- Collaborate with student organizations and event organizers to expand outreach and recruit and educate prospective registry members
- Promote recruitment and education efforts via social media and other available distribution channels
Plan and execute events
- Plan and execute one campus-wide Member Education and Registration event per semester, including logistics, volunteers, materials, and follow-up
- Collaborate with the territory team and communicate progress, barriers, and upcoming opportunities
Manage partnerships
- Manage partnerships focused on assigned audience(s) and/or program(s)
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of: NMDP mission and key lifesaving messages used to educate others about NMDP and the Registry NMDP member registration process, including steps, requirements, and standards
- Computer systems and tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet search applications
- Ability To Demonstrate belief and commitment to NMDP’s mission
- Demonstrate drive and determination to educate and inspire peers to join a cause
- Demonstrate a growth mindset by actively seeking mentorship and leadership development
- Create, develop, manage, and activate a volunteer team to host executive board and general body meetings, recruit new members, maintain good standing with the college/university, and achieve goals
- Communicate effectively with peers, staff, and administrators
- Maintain a collaborative and future-focused mentality
- Stay highly organized and prioritize time for CCI activities without interfering with academic commitments
- Work successfully both independently and as part of a team in a remote, virtual environment
- Work in partnership with others and delegate responsibilities as needed
- Adapt and problem-solve when things don’t initially go as planned
- Use social media platforms to effectively promote NMDP’s lifesaving mission
Education And/or Experience
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a targeted college or university
- Completed at least 30-hours of coursework
- Minimum GPA 2.8
- Meet or exceed the college/university’s Standard Academic Progress requirements
Time Commitment
- Commitment to serve in this role for a full academic year and a summer, with the targeted term beginning in June 2026 and ending in May 2027
- Average 10 hours/week time commitment
- Active attendance in a weekly 1:1 call with supervisor
- Active attendance in a weekly CCI team call
- Livest attendance or a review of the recording of Monthly National Chapter Program calls
- Active attendance at Chapter Program Meeting Minneapolis, MN – July 20-22
- All travel, food, lodging covered by NMDP Contingent upon travel restrictions and budget
Pay Rate
$18.50/hour
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference given to students who are currently NMDP Chapter members, NMDP Ambassadors and/or NMDP volunteers
- Previous leadership roles, professional or volunteer
- Experience in planning and facilitating meetings, including agenda preparation
- Experience in goal setting and timeline planning
- An enthusiasm for personal and professional development
