What You Will Be Doing
- Using performance metrics, classroom observations, and candid feedback to coach Guides and students, then maintaining accountability to quantifiable objectives for both groups
- Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 learners on life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and peer feedback
- Conducting individual and small-group sessions focused on motivation that link each child's personal interests and goals to tangible academic advancement
- Creating and iterating on playbooks that convert your most effective methods into replicable systems other Guides can implement reliably
- Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating facilitation excellence to preserve standards as the team expands
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Providing direct academic instruction or traditional lectures
- Reducing expectations when a student encounters challenges
- Managing remotely as instructional coaches and principals typically do; you remain directly involved with your cohort every day
- Oversight of the full campus budget, operations, and parent communications; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide results
- Supporting traditional pedagogical approaches or adhering to a standard K-12 curriculum
Basic Requirements
- Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY; Miami, FL; or San Francisco, CA; relocation support is available
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5 to 9)
- Prior experience leading a team of 5 or more individuals, with authority to hire and terminate based on performance results
- Track record of building, launching, or substantially scaling a program, team, school, or initiative from inception, rather than managing an established one
- Comfortable operating in a school environment that rejects conventional teaching methods
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrated ability using metrics, dashboards, or analytics to identify issues and produce measurable progress
- Experience coaching or supervising other adults to achieve quantifiable results, beyond performing the tasks yourself
- Background in youth development, camp leadership, competitive coaching, tutoring, or enrichment programs where motivation was a primary focus
- Proven ability facilitating or speaking publicly before groups of young children

Working with us
- This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position
- The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record
- The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year
- The payment period is weekly
