About the role
The City of Battle Creek and Flash Flood Water Park are seeking Camp Counselors to lead and support children during summer camp activities.
Responsibilities
- Organize games such as soccer, baseball, basketball, and various tag games by explaining rules and acting as referee or umpire.
- Lead activities like arts and crafts, demonstrating techniques, and encouraging creativity.
- Communicate with parents, providing updates and addressing questions about the camp.
- Provide guidance, motivation, and support to all campers.
- Keep daily attendance records.
- Communicate daily with the Camp Director regarding plans, special needs, absences, discipline, and other concerns.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Ability to obtain First Aid and Infant, Child, and Adult CPR (provided).
- Experience working with children is preferred.
Special Requirements
- Candidates may be required to be fingerprinted.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This work is sedentary and requires little to no exertion of force; work regularly involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, hand dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, seeing, hearing, using the telephone, contact with the general public, working inside, outside, and alone.
Pay
This position is not eligible for benefits.
