Camp Assistant Coach (Boys Soccer)

About the role
The Assistant Coach position with our overnight camp will assist the head coach with a group of 15+ campers by providing direction for daily training sessions, small and large-sided matches, helping campers navigate campus, and creating a culture of positivity under the head coach’s guidance within our 5-day camp environment. They will also help manage the dorm environment and facilitate information to campers.
The University of New Hampshire is committed to providing a safe environment for all persons, including children, and requires all youth program staff to undergo a criminal background check as mandated by NH State Law. Staff and volunteers will also complete periodic child safety training.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with On-Field Coaching (50%):
- Support the head coach in organizing and running training sessions tailored to skill level and age.
- Foster a positive soccer culture within the group.
- Provide information and encouragement to help campers improve.
- Chaperone (35%):
- Escort campers between dorm, dining hall, and fields.
- Take attendance and ensure the group is in the correct location at the correct time.
- Manage the dormitory setting.
- Field Organizer (15%):
- Set up field activities as directed by the head coach.
Requirements
- Soccer background.
- Understanding of the sport and ability to take direction from the head coach.
Pay
$20.00 per hour.
