Camera Operator & Editor
About the role
This is a true hybrid creator role. You will split your time between being a competent camera operator on set and a creative editor in post-production.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Set Production
- Act as a competent, reliable camera operator on set, handling framing, composition, and basic lighting/audio setups under the direction of our production leads.
- Responsible for managing media cards on set, ensuring all captured footage is safely backed up to shuttle drives before wrap.
- Creative Editing & Motion Graphics
- Deliver high-impact, visually engaging video cuts across both of our core production tracks, avoiding formulaic or traditional editing styles.
- Use motion graphics and design principles (typography, layout, color theory) to build dynamic graphics, slick transitions, and custom social templates that elevate our content.
- Edit with platform-native formats and trends at the forefront (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts).
- Actively explore and integrate the latest AI post-production and design tools to maximize workflow efficiency and creative execution.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in video production and editing within an agency, commercial production house, or an exceptional freelance portfolio.
- Software Literacy: Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, After Effects and a solid foundation in design principles. Experience with Photoshop/Illustrator is a major plus.
- Camera Experience: Competency operating mirrorless or cinema camera systems, with a good understanding of exposure, focus, and audio capture.
- The "New Wave" Toolkit: A natural curiosity for utilizing AI tools (e.g., generative audio/video, automated transcription, AI masking) to enhance the creative process.
- Collaboration: Maintain outstanding interpersonal skills. You can articulate your creative choices clearly to the internal team. Work Schedule Monday & Friday: Remote Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: In-Office / Collaboration Days
