About the role

The TESOL or ESL Teacher in Cambodia assists the church-planting team by opening doors for ministry. They help students gain a valuable skill while creating a natural bridge for building relationships and sharing the gospel.

Responsibilities

• Use skills, education, and spiritual gifts to serve the community
• Plan and organize lessons that meet team criteria and learner needs
• Provide consistent, coordinated, and engaging instruction
• Use various teaching techniques and strategies to support learners' language development
• Evaluate and assess learners' progress and provide feedback
• Build genuine friendships that welcome people through spiritual conversations
• Participate in church-planting and expansion efforts

Requirements

• Training: Formal or informal experience in teaching English
• Understanding of Culture and Worldview: Patience and cultural awareness/sensitivity
• Christian Maturity: Christ-like character, leadership competency, humility, listening heart, and spiritual discipline
• Evangelistic Outreach Experience: Desire to implement church-planting and multiplication strategies
• A Collaborative Style: Team player with interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, able to work cooperatively on a team and within a local network

Qualifications

• Formal Bible training and exposure to missiological principles are helpful but not required
