Contract position, 10–40 hrs/week, remote, $25–$50/hour.
Responsibilities
- Develop precision CAM toolpaths in Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining operations.
- Program complex milling and turning geometries across metals and plastics, optimizing for material, tolerance, and machine capabilities.
- Simulate and verify toolpaths to identify and resolve potential issues such as collisions, gouging, and inefficient cycle times.
- Configure, tune, and document post-processors for various CNC machines (e.g., Haas, Makera).
- Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and strategy documentation for downstream manufacturing professionals.
- Author clear, instructional content, walkthroughs, or written guidance on CAM programming techniques and best practices.
- Incorporate feedback from first-part results and inspection reports to iterate and refine CAM outputs.
Requirements
- Strong, hands-on CAM programming experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Fusion 360 with a portfolio or sample work highlighting multi-axis programming and toolpath strategy.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM principles, and post-processor configuration.
- Expertise programming for advanced CNC environments, including experience with a range of materials (aluminum, stainless, titanium, plastics).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience creating or delivering CAM training content (formal courses, tutorials, mentoring, or online instructional materials preferred).
