CALTRANS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II

About the role

The State of California is seeking multiple individuals to fill the position of CEO II - Complete Streets Operator II. This role involves operating equipment, construction machinery, vehicles, and tools under the supervision of a Caltrans Maintenance Complete Streets Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Retain a Class A Commercial Drivers License
• Operate equipment, construction machinery, vehicles, and tools
• Perform labor-intensive work during emergency operations and work associated with maintaining the state highway system
• Specialize in maintaining Complete Streets facilities, including sidewalk, crosswalk, and bike way areas
• Perform field site inventory evaluations and condition assessments of Complete Streets facilities
• Travel to remove locations and stay overnight to meet department needs

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License with N (Tank Vehicle) endorsements
• Valid driver's license required when operating a State-owned or leased vehicle
• Pass a drug screening prior to employment

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must meet the Minimum Qualifications outlined in the Classification Specification. Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency report evaluation indicating the number of units and degree equivalence.
