About the role

Mercer-Bucks Orthopaedics, PC is seeking one or more full-time Call Center Agents. The position is available in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming calls and handles and routes calls to appropriate parties within the company
  • Takes messages and creates tasks within the computerized system and sends to appropriate parties
  • Speaks with all new and established patients and schedules office appointments
  • Uses a telephone headset and computerized appointment scheduling program to schedule all patient appointments, according to physician-specified protocols
  • Pulls messages off the voice mail system from patients who wish to schedule appointments
  • Possibly informs all new and established patients about the practice's payment at the time of service policy, and ensures they understand they are to arrive with their referral form, x-rays, etc.
  • Informs patients of financial responsibility if practice is not on the patient's insurance plan
  • Informs patients of the information needed by the Pre-Registration Coordinator; asks patient what is the best time to get a hold of him/her for pre-registration
  • Emails, mails, or faxes registration information to new patients
  • Re-schedules all patients when the physician has to cancel office hours
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and other compliance regulations
  • Attends continuing education courses as requested
  • Attends all regular staff meetings
  • Completes all other duties as assigned by the Scheduling Manager, VP of Operations, or CEO

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • College education or trade school preferred
  • Minimum two years experience working in a physician practice scheduling appointments
  • Prior call center experience helpful
  • Computer literate, with advanced keyboard skills
  • Ability to work with patients and make them feel comfortable
  • Pleasant and professional demeanor on telephone
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable and highly motivated
  • Bilingual/multilingual skills preferred

8 hour shift Monday to Friday
