Essential Functions
- Calibrating and maintaining various measurements and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintaining records of measurements and making necessary adjustments or repairs
- Providing technical advice for the repair and calibration of precision measuring equipment
- Managing and communicating team metrics to peers and to management
- Initiate Out-Of-Tolerance (OOT) reports as needed
- Provides certificate of calibration based on an acceptable quality level of pre-inspected gauges to approve their use in-house, or for suppliers
- Performs basic maintenance and repair metrology equipment
- Conduct and document quality assurance tests
- Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
- Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
Qualifications
- Ace’s degree in metrology, mechanical engineering, or another related field, or 3 years of experience in this field
- A strong academic curriculum should be in subjects like GD&T, mathematics, physics, and computer science
- Professional certifications, such as the Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) from the American Society for Quality are preferred
- Handling and maintaining metrology equipment, understanding measurement uncertainty, calibration procedures and quality management systems
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, multitasking and the ability to work under pressure to ensure accurate measurements
- Computer skills for using specialized software to control measurement systems and for documenting results
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate with engineers and other professionals, as well as to communicate measurement results effectively
- Mathematical skills for complex calculations required in measurements and analysis
- Time management skills to complete tasks within given deadlines without compromising the quality of work
- Ability to establish relationships across the organization and at various hierarchical levels
- Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest measurement techniques and tools is also crucial in this field
