Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for calibrating all instrumentation gages and maintaining an accurate and auditable gauge/calibration system.
  • Audit focal for all instrumentation calibration related matters involving FAA, Customer auditors and external auditors.
  • Maintain an accurate and auditable gage/calibration system.
  • Filing of certs in an organized manner and maintaining them per customer record retention requirements.
  • Initiate, follow up and assist in out of tolerance (OOT) investigations.
  • Documentation of calibration extensions and lost gages, as needed.
  • Requesting repair parts and repair quotes from outside vendors, when needed.
  • Entering new gages into the calibration system.
  • Marketing gages per local policy requirements.
  • Works with the QCE on the development and/or ordering of new gaging and calibration policies, as needed.
  • Request for quote and ordering of new or replacement gages, as needed.
  • Calibrating all instrumentation gages within the facility, including machine based gages, pressures gages, temperature gages, timers etc.
  • Policy focal for all internal site instrumentation calibration related policies.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
  • Perform safety inspections of work area, equipment and tools in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and precautions for plant maintenance and repair work.
  • Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
  • Observe SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications

  • At least two years experience related to general production maintenance.
  • Supports site maintenance activities through the safe performance of a wide range of manual and skilled labor tasks.

Physical Demands

  • Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings.
  • Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment.
  • Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
  • Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions.
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
