About the Role
As a Calibration Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement instruments and equipment used across various operational processes. Your expertise will directly impact product quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards by maintaining precise calibration records and performing routine and corrective calibrations. You will collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve calibration issues, thereby minimizing downtime and optimizing equipment performance. Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Metrology, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in calibration of industrial instruments and equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Strong knowledge of calibration standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant industry regulations.
- Proficiency in using calibration tools, measurement devices, and software for data logging and analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple calibration tasks and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Calibration Technician (e.g., from the American Society for Quality or equivalent).
- Experience with automated calibration systems and advanced metrology equipment.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications related to instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine calibration of a wide range of instruments and equipment according to established procedures and standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate calibration records, documentation, and reports to ensure traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve calibration discrepancies or equipment malfunctions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and update calibration procedures and schedules to align with industry best practices and company policies.
- Train and support other staff members on proper calibration techniques and the importance of measurement accuracy.
