Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests and performing varied cashier functions in a pleasant, efficient, and honest manner.

Responsibilities

• Quickly and accurately make change, cash checks, and process fills.
• Write receipts for payouts and other documents.
• Access and enter information on a computer.
• Greet patrons and offer efficient, timely customer service during all window transactions.
• Use current technology to obtain customer credit information, field incoming calls, and coordinate work with fellow employees.
• Maintain bank balance, keep work area clean, and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and efficiently.
• Perform customer‑facing transactions including fronting money, safekeeping transactions, currency exchanges, cashing checks, credit‑card cash advances, ticket‑related transactions, and balance assigned areas with accuracy.
• Adhere to all Internal Controls, Standard Operating Procedures, Virginia Lottery regulations, and AML/Title 31 regulations.
• Clean and sanitize work and public spaces.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• Prior cashier or teller experience (preferred).
• Good arithmetic and basic math skills; 10‑key calculator proficiency.
• Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications required by Federal law, State law, and Virginia Lottery.
• Successful background check and drug screening.
• Strict confidentiality regarding financial data and casino policies.
• Well‑groomed appearance; uniform with appropriate license visible at all times.
• Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age.
• Ability to work varying shifts and schedules as needed.
• Ability to stand for 100 % of a shift in a noisy environment.
• Physical ability to lift and push/pull a cash cart weighing approximately 255 lb a minimum of 49 feet.

Skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Effective communication with outside contacts and all levels of team members.
• Ability to review, comprehend, analyze, and assimilate reports and information generated by computers and documentation.
• Balance bank at end of shift and accurately handle various denominations of cash, checks, etc.

Pay

Hourly rate: $14 – $19.
