About the Role

This position provides district support across multiple campuses, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced food service environment. You will shadow experienced staff to gain exposure to daily operations, customer service, food preparation, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food service operations across multiple campuses.
• Follow instructions for food preparation and safety procedures.
• Operate standard kitchen equipment, including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, deep-fat fryer, sharp cutting tools, stove, oven, dishwasher, and food/utility cart.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions for food preparation and safety procedures.
• No prior food service experience required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
• Motion: Continual walking; frequent climbing (ladder), grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching/overhead reaching.
• Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (15–44 pounds).
• Environment: Work inside in a commercial kitchen; exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, extreme humidity, noise, vibration, microwaves, biological hazards (bacteria, mold, fungi), chemical hazards (fumes, vapor, gases), electrical hazards; work with hands in water; work around machinery with moving parts; work on slippery surfaces.
• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.

Pay

Pay Grade: 300
Pay Rate: Minimum $12.75; Mid $12.75

Schedule

178 days per year.
