Cafeteria Associate - Per Diem Nutrition Services

Schedule

Hours: 4 p.m.–8:30 p.m., three days per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Delivers trays to patients and verifies patient ID to ensure correct delivery.
• Fills in for shifts as needed.
• Takes patient orders over the phone and in person while providing excellent customer service.
• Delivers carts to the correct floor or patient area.
• Serves trays to patients and determines if they need anything else.
• Assists patients with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
• Assembles, retrieves, and cleans patient trays.
• Assists in the dish room.
• Brews coffee and tea; may be required to restock other beverage areas.
• Re‑stocks floor stock (if assigned) and follows standardized processes related to floor stock.
• Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in‑service training.
• Complies with all Trinity Health policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Food handling experience and comfort cleaning trays and assisting in the dish room.
• Previous healthcare or nutrition experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic knowledge related to hospital diets.
• Ability to perform well in a high‑functioning kitchen.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
