Position Summary
The Café Station Attendant is responsible for preparing, stocking, and maintaining assigned café service stations while providing exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment. This position assists with food and beverage preparation, serves guests, operates the point-of-sale system as needed, and ensures all stations remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to all guests.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to company recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Operate assigned café stations, which may include hot food, grab-and-go, beverage, coffee, bakery, or cashier stations.
- Maintain product quality, freshness, and proper food temperatures.
- Restock food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and supplies throughout the shift.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and process guest transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, dining areas, and service counters.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors.
- Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food and beverage products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Support opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities.
- Assist with catering, special events, or banquet support as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with culinary, café, and other food and beverage team members.
- Respond professionally to guest questions and resolve concerns by escalating issues when appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous food service, café, restaurant, coffee shop, concession, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic math and cash handling skills preferred.
- Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
- Alcohol service certification may be required depending on assigned work area.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast-paced environments.
