Café Clerk

Good Foods Co-op is a community-owned natural foods grocery that supports local farmers and creates a welcoming shopping experience. They are seeking a Café Clerk who enjoys a fast-paced food service environment, prepares high-quality food and beverages, and provides excellent customer service.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare sandwiches, beverages, and other menu items according to recipes and food safety guidelines
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service and respond to customer needs
• Keep the café, dining area, and prep spaces clean, stocked, and organized
• Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and storage practices
• Aid in receiving deliveries and verifying product quality and invoices
• Maintain accurate signage and menu displays
• Support inventory counts and minimize waste
• Communicate equipment or operational needs to the Prepared Foods Manager
• Support team workflow and daily production needs
• Follow all department procedures and safety standards

What We’re Looking For

• Previous food service or customer service experience (preferred)
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and organization
• Broughts a strong work ethic and reliability
• Communicates clearly and works well with a team
• Has an interest in natural and organic foods and cooperative values
• Comfortable working with the public and diverse communities (preferred)
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including at least one weekend day

Qualifications

• Availability – Must be available to work as scheduled and at least one weekend day each week
• Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Previous food service and customer service experience preferred. High level of interest in natural and organic foods. High level of interest in the cooperative business structure and in the long-term sustainability of locally-owned, independent businesses preferred. Very strong work ethic and demonstrable attention to detail. Must be a fast, focused, and hardworking person. Experience working with the public. Experience with diverse cultures and backgrounds preferred.
• Essential Physical Qualifications: Standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, sitting, reaching for long periods of time, using hands or fingers to handle or feel, ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs., ability to team lift up to and over 100 lbs., ability to climb up and down step stools, stairs, ladders, ability to use feet and hands to operate machinery and equipment, ability to work in hot, cold, and wet climates, high level of maneuverability, ability to communicate by talking and hearing.
