About the role
PCSI is seeking a General Maintenance Worker at Fort Knox, KY - Site 840. This position reports to the Cadet Command Supervisor and is based at our Fort Knox Kentucky TFM contract. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Special work schedules may include split-shifts, second-shift assignments, overtime, and weekend work due to support of CST, CAP, and Raider Challenge annual events.
Responsibilities
- Minor adjustments and repairs to plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, and roof systems.
- Cleaning and maintaining of mechanical rooms.
- Preventative maintenance functions and minor repairs, including changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils, and changing fluorescent and other light bulbs.
- Manufacture, repair, and installation of screens and glass.
- Sign maintenance to include inspections, replacement (setting/affixing) and painting.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed.
- Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Snow and ice removal operations.
- Roofing: Assess and make minor repairs to shingles, TPO, rock & seam & conventional rib metal roofing; cutters & downspout repair and replacement; ceiling tiles; drywall ceilings; wall tiles; insulation/sound proofing; drywall installation; painting; windows & glass installation; doors installation and adjustment; flooring replacement and installation; framing proper removal and demo; masonry minor repairs; furnishings basic knowledge.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least six (6) months of experience with the ability to perform the assigned duties.
- Knowledge of all maintenance trades in a maintenance environment (prior government contractor experience preferred).
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installation, maintenance and repair.
- Must have the ability to successfully complete all applicable training modules assigned.
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
Skills
- Knowledge of all maintenance trades in a maintenance environment (prior government contractor experience preferred).
